DSU INTERNATIONAL HEALTH

Students charged with the International Health Plan are able to opt-out from their plan if they can provide proof of enrollment in a comparable health plan. Students who are on exchange, have sponsored, or private coverage, must opt-out by the due dateÌýon the Student VIP website. International Opt-outs with MSI coverage can be submitted throughout the policy year. For further information regarding this, please contact the DSU Health Plan Office or visitÌý

FALL ORIENTATION/TRANSITION WEEK

Your Dalhousie Student Union and ºÃÉ«¹È work together to coordinate Orientation Week (O-Week) programming for new students!ÌýThe Orientation Pass (O-Week Pass) fee, included in your student account, is your ticket to all the O-Week events and activities.Ìý

This includes access to concerts, games, socials, and other welcome events happening on and around campus. These programs are made possible in part thanks to this fee.

For most incoming undergraduate students studying on the Halifax campus, the $130 O-Week Pass fee is automatically included in your tuition and fees. If you are a new Dalhousie student who is unable to participate in Orientation Week, you can request to opt out and receive a refund through your student fee statement.

If cost is a barrier, financial waivers are available for students who would like to participate in Orientation programming but are experiencing financial need.

Steps to opt out:

1. Log into dal online:Ìý
2. Select the Ìý‘Student’ tab
3. Click the ‘Additional Fee/Waiver Application Form’ link
4. In the ‘Select a Term’ drop down chooseÌý2025/2026 Fall
5. For the plan ‘Dalhousie Orientation Fee Opt-Out Application’ choose:ÌýApply.
6. Read and click through the information and disclaimer screens and then enter a reason for opting out. Once complete, submit the opt-out request.
